I was recently diagnosed with a stage 1 melanoma. The plastic surgeon thought it was nothing, but removed it anyway. Then he did a wide excision, then found more cancer. At this point, I have another surgery and do not know what my staging will be. I am just stunned at how many educated people say to be, “oh, whew, it is only skin cancer. That is no big deal!” Public ignoraqnce in this matter is killing people.
